Burley Stoves - Made in UKThe stunning Icarus 5 is a cutting edge stove from Burley which is made with pride in the UK. A dedicated wood burning stove with portrait dimensions providing a fantastic flame view and ideal for either recessing into a chamber or free-standing installations.

As well as being a smoke exempt appliance allowing you to burn wood even in smoke controlled areas, the Burley Icarus 5 model 9605 is also 2022 approved and exceeding the requirements of EcoDesign. Reinforced by Burley’s environmental policies, the Icarus assures you that you have made a green, clean burning and fuel efficient choice.

Cut by laser, formed by computer and welded by robot, the Burley Icarus 5 delivers technical precision as standard. the 5mm plate steel sections are so perfectly seam welded that they are actually melted and fused together to make one solid piece. Burley endeavour to buy British steel, the castings are made in a British foundry, 100% of the fabrication is made in our factory in Oakham, even the beech wooden handle is turned in Devon.

Most stoves draw their air from the room, air which you have already paid to heat. This warm air is replaced by cold air creeping around doors and windows. An open flue will suck all the air from your room once every hour, 24 hours a day. The Icarus however can very easily be room sealed so the air is drawn from outside, this means all the lovely warmth drifts outwards, not only warming your room, but also your entire home. It is Burley’s environmental policy to only make stoves which can be room sealed.

With a nominal heat output rating of 5kW, the Icarus 9605 is a perfect choice for modern day living in standard sized rooms. It can accept logs up to 285mm in length and will provide a stunning centerpiece in any home!

Burley Thank You Pack for StovesIncluded free with the Icarus 9605 is Burley's 'Thank You' pack which typically contains:

  • Spanner to attach and adjust the tension of the air control lever
  • Coaster to protect the top of your stove
  • Moisture Meter to ensure your wood is dry
  • Stove Paint in case you prefer black handles or ever need to touch up any paint work
  • Heat Resistant Glove
  • Scoop for removing ash
  • Allen Key should you wish to adjust the door handle
  • A Mug to enjoy a cup of tea whilst admiring the fantastic flame picture

The contents of the kits vary from model to model, so not all the items listed or shown above may be included with your stove.

Due to the continuing rise in costs for delivery to Highland areas, we have reluctantly concluded that having absorbed these costs for a long time this is regrettably no longer possible and we have had to introduce a fee for delivery to certain Scottish postcodes. Customers that live in the affected areas will be contacted when we process your order to be advised on specific extra charges and have the opportunity to confirm the order.
